How'zat sports bar, located opposite the Queen's Park Oval on Tragarete Road is one of the many new watering holes open for the avid Trini limer.
They provide the usual spread of $10 brews; Carib, Stag, Carib Pilsner. The balance of the alcoholic offerings are just as affordable. Unfortunately this is where the appeal of How'zat ends.
How'zat touts itself as a sports bar yet there is a noticeable lack of sports memorabilia. Personally, after hearing the name How'zat I was expecting a cricket bat mounted at the back of the bar at the very least. Wishful thinking on my part.
Bar staff did their job, but with a bit of a lackluster undertone. Bathrooms were less than appealing; broken toilet stall door in the female, out of order sign on the male toilet stall and lest I forget cleaning products simply placed on the ground next to the sink in plain sight. It would seem that How'zat modeled its feel after the landmark bars littered through St. James, unfortunately there is no St. James appeal here.
At the end of it all, you get what you pay for; Cheap beer.
There's really no other appeal to this place that makes you want to stay for a second round of drinks.
